My Black Lab, Blackjack, who I've had for thirteen years is going to be put to sleep this week. His hips have gone bad to the point where he's been chewing the fur off of his hind legs and hips and he can barely walk. What's making this situation even harder is the fact that he's still the happiest dog you could ever find. Over his long life, I've never seen him unhappy other than when we were away for vacation and we had to leave him at a kennel. You will be missed.

Far out, that's shit news. We were battling for life with my jack russell two years a go, he had been bitten by a spider and we weren't sure whether he'd live or not, eventually he stopped breathing. I couldn't stop crying. Dogs make possibly the best pets, constantly happy. Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss.
I'm so sorry man. My family put our dog down a year and a half ago. It was the saddest day of my life(Everyone in my direct family is still alive). I'm still sad when I think about her.
That's amazingly sad, I love dogs, I'd kill someone if they did something bad to my dog.
The first dog I had died with an infection in her fur, we were trying to find a cure for it for a few months, but we couldn't do anything. She was suffering a lot and there was no cure, so we found that a better choice would be killing her...
I don't even want to write about it, already crying.
Oh my god, that's so sad. :'c I hope you find a way to get past this difficult time. Always remember the delightful memories the both of you shared, it makes everything worth it.
My dog was put to sleep last year. She was just a little older than your dog. She had a tumor that kept coming back under her belly by her back legs. Just one morning she couldn't walk anymore without leaning against a wall. Was so sad because she couldn't even stand up to eat or drink water. She was such a good dog.....we had rescued her from an abusive family when she was 7 or 8 years old.
