Okay, as someone who has taken a college psychology class, I might be able to help. If she has experienced some type heartbreak before, she will hesitate to try to become too attached. She would be afraid to give you her heart, in fear that you will crush it. (Not saying you will, just that this is a general fear). She is always gonna take that one step backward after getting too close which she seems to be doing.
You told us that she cried until 3 am? That's huge. She's comfortable with you enough to do that. The topic she was crying about, on the other hand, hopefully isn't about another guy. Next day she ignored you. This isn't as bad as it may seem. The ignorance may just be a sign of shyness. She just showed you her most intense emotions. What you should have done in this situation was go up to her, look her in the eyes, and just tell her "hi". It would have shown that you truly care about her, and it would have shown that she can cry with you around any time. Edit: i'm assuming you actually see her on regular basis.
My guess is she really likes you, and doesn't want to fall in love with you. Yet. I'm telling you give it time, do NOT push her into doing things she doesn't want to do. I believe it will work out eventually. If you want to give me more information on the situation, I'll do my best to help you out.
