If Pmods...

Had the abilities to issue temporary bans and automatic stats rollback of 50% for macroing, would you continue to bot?

Kinda like Wow GM's.

I don't think I would continue to bot because I have an IRL friend who is a PMod on Runescape.

I'd be at LRC all day handing out bans and sorc garden. IDC about mules, banning mules for botting is a dick move, banning gold farming throwaways is different.

What about legitters, botting a few levels in skills they don't like? (I guess you can call them leggiters?)

No, I wouldn't. Only ban people that ruin the market at LRC, like me on my 200 accounts, but different.

I think there would be a large amount of abuse because a lot of PMODS are 10 year old fags.

I agree with WetRain as well.

@[Zach] - Don't you think that is kind of unfair? If this were the case, I would also like PMods able to undo rolls.

lol.

It's unfair? You cheat and you get a punishment, I'm not saying I do not bot, but if you cheat, you know what could happen with your account.

I am saying it's unfair that YOU bot, but want the power to ban botters XD

You have 200 LRC gold farmers, yet you want to ban not yours.

Yes. I want to make sure my bots avoid bans, however anyone else gets the ban.

Me and Zach talked about this earlier. My insight on Player Moderators being able to ban would be that they would only be able to ban for 48 hours and Jagex give them strict instructions on what their are to ban for. I also think that Jagex should give seasoned Player Moderators the ability to do reports for stuff like spamming, offensive language, item scamming, password scamming, and all the simple stuff, but leave stuff like account hijacking, botting, bug abuse, etc. to Jagex. That was Jagex would have less reports to worry about. They already have J Mods that watch over the Player Mods so no problems.

Some player moderators are indeed 10-12 years old, but that doesn't mean they won't be a good moderator. It depends on their attitude, perception, skills, how they act, etc.

I think Jagex should regulate botting as well and it would keep bots from hurting the economy and having an unfair advantage. It isn't hard to regulate it. It would be even easier to regulate if Jagex added certain bots themselves a members only feature of course. :)

Yeah I would, cos if i didnt i wouldnt play.

Do people not understand? Player Moderators are just in the game so JaGeX can give people promotions if they mass-report, in other words, "tattle-tale". Player Moderators powers are near-nothing and the effect of a 2 day mute does nothing, since no one will quit if they got a 2 day mute, which in other words, means it's reversible, unlike a permanent ban, which is where the real power is, which loses members of the game. Player Moderators will most likely ever receive any further/stronger permissions.

I wouldn't continue to bot, but as The Elite says, they will never get a stronger permission towards players, as many could actually abuse the role and cause chaos in the game.

Player Moderators don't get chosen over reports. They get chosen based on how helpful they are within the community and their understanding of the rules.

Player Moderators shouldn't have the ability to permantely ban anyone, but I do think they should have permissions to at least ban someone for a week, but Jagex will give strict instructions on when they are allowed to.

A week? I don't think that should be allowed, maybe 2 weeks at the most.

Maybe if they didn't give it to every mod, maybe make a new usergroup for very old mods and give them the abilities to rollback and temp ban.

Pmods will never get that ability. That would be abused so much.. And if they did, they'd so bot themselves, so they could have an epic amount of resources to themselves. Pmods would just scare everybody off by threatening bans. >_>

No, just no.
