Yes it would make you cool and popular, you will get all the weeaboos asking to join your group.
 
Groups are so stupid, I have been in a few groups and no one is active in the subforums, which is the whole point of a group.

I told these big boys to invite me and I'd keep it active. Guess they don't take me seriously haha.

If you were to start up a group that would actually have an active subforum, I think that would be great, but if your just buying the group so that you and your friends can have a cool userbar, then I think it is pointless to purchase.
