Well-known HDD enclosure brand Icy Dock has recently been enriched with a truly innovative product that allows the user to safely and professionally mount two 2.5” HDDs and a slim notebook-type optical disc drive (ODD) in a single 5.25” bay.
It is very rare to see such innovative merging of ideas into a single product as most accessories and peripheral manufacturers are interested in selling as many products as possible and steer clear from merging two or three products into a single one.
The Chinese company came up with a very capable enclosure that fits perfectly in a standard 5.25” bay.
Inside Icy Dock’s MB994IPO-3SB Dual HDD Enclosure there are two 2.5” HDD bays with a slim ODD on top.
The 2.5” bays can handle any SATA III or SAS 2.0 HDD with rotational speeds up to 15,000 RPM and the user can also mount a top of the line notebook Blu-ray writer.
The Icy Dock MB994IPO-3SB Dual HDD Enclosure allows HTPC users mount at least four HDDs in any case that has a single 5.25” bay or 6 HDDs and 2optical units in a case with two such bays.
