Alright guys, long time console player here sold my XB1 to fund my drift car but I've still got my laptop (use the laptop to tune the car anyway so it will never get sold). Not the best computer in the world but it's alright I guess. It's a Toshiba Satellite P755, for anyone curious. I just download steam and I have some free to play games but nothing great yet. Once the cars done and I've got some spare money I'm going to pick up some more fun games. But in the mean time, I'm having a really hard time adjusting to using all the keys as apposed to the simplicity of a controller. For example, I'm really quick at typing normally and I know all the keys without taking a second look, however when I'm gaming it's as if my hands get sidetracked and I loose my placement while trying to learn the different controls for every game. I think the reason I'm getting side tracked is because my left hand is basically just wanting to hover over WASD, instead of a normal typing configuration. My left hand is my dominate hand so it's quite faster than using my right for hitting keys. Is there any "defaults" so to speak that most games use (aside from the obvious WASD) and Any tips from more frequent computer gamers?

Tl;dr I'm usually pretty nasty at online games on XBL and getting my ass beat using a keyboard and mouse, need tips.

Well if your playing PC games that are on steam & you have a PS/Xbox Wired controller you can always use the controller but you may need to make some type of modification or extra utility to use it.

best bet is to just practice with a mouse. if you use a controller you will get raped because the thumb stick doesn't allow for many degrees of movement because of how small it is.

Join me and @brian in league of legends. All you need to know is q, w, e, r, possibly (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), kiting, last hitting, objectives, how to build and a few easy stuff
I've never played league, but at my new part time job the assistant manager (a 21 yr. old VERY attractive women) is a girl that graduated a year ahead of me and she plays league like everyday, always told me I should start playing maybe I should...

Sadly I sold everything xbox related with the console, except maybe 1 old hori turbo controller and my gamertags (worth more than my console lmao) I'll have to look for that old blue POS haha.

If you're playing an FPS game, always set up your keys like this.

W - Forward
A - Left
S - Down
D - Right
Q - Equipment
E - Melee
Middle mouse - Lethal
C - Crouch
CTRL - Prone

These are they main key binds I use. If there are any other keys that are needed, just make sure your hands are comfortable when you need to press them. Don't listen to anyone if they tell you to use a controller. If you're playing a FPS, you're going to need to use K+M to keep up with everyone else. You will get destroyed if you use a controller. When I first got my gaming PC, my friend pushed me to use K+M because he said I would play better. Maybe not at first, but it will take some time to get used to. He was right. I'm better when I use K+M.
