Right, I'm from England and I'm English.
But I always get Americans/Canadians etc calling me 'British' which is the whole of the UK, including the Irish, the Welsh and the Scottish.

Also why do so many Americans hate on the Britons?

It's not the Americans who started it. I go on xbox, and as soon as there is a 12 year old British kid. The usual insults of "Fat american, go eat ya haaaaaaamburger." and "SHUUUUUUUT UUUUP."

It irritates me that I'm not like that at all, I'm talking to my friend and someone from the US just goes "Tea and Crumpets! I fuck the Queen" in a really bad English accent.

Its not just the acent, its goes on from there, people just have random fights, its not always the english kids that start the fights on xbox, cuz i had an american kid start on me on xbox,

And 90% of Americans that play games don't know shit about the UK so they just say random ass shit.

Well, I have never heard of your particular situation but I do know what you mean. They are generalizing all of the UK as British. I'm Canadian, would that make me British too? Canada started off as a British colony.

Maybe they're jealous because they don't have your specific accent? Who knows.
