I wanted to get a new iPhone before my warranty ends so I shoved a knife into the charging port, and now it won't charge. I then found out that bent/broken charging pins are not covered under the warranty, so it really depends on the person who's issuing me the replacement to give me one or not. I have an appointment with them in a few days, so I'll just tell them that it stopped charging all of a sudden and hope for the best.

I've done this before, it often works because apple don't give a fuck they'll just replace it.

They replaced my iphone when I had a broken off headphone bit in the jack lol

OP you should be fine, they'll just think its some sort of failure.

How'd you break yours? Apple replaced my water damaged iPod before, but I'm not sure how lenient they are on them now.
 
This exact thing happened to mine, it was still covered under the warranty tho
 
One time i was trying to take these dick pics and my cock decimated my screen and apple still replaced it, so i think you should be alright.

It costs them basically nothing for the kids in china to make another iPhone for them.
 
My buddy did the same thing and still got a replacement.

Just make sure you word everything correctly and don't really give them the opportunity to not replace it.
 
Update: Apple denied my request and marked it as "Physical Damage"
:Took phone in for repair at a non-apple approved store for only 30 dollars
Outcome: Lost 30 dollars, 2 hours of time, 5 days of anxiety

it would trigger the water sensors, they would see it, and then you can't repair or replace it now.
 
Wow, that really sucks that you screwed up the CIRCUIT.

Tell them it randomly stopped charging (which is a common issue), you've bought new charging cables but they don't work for more than a day or two, and then they should replace it at that point.

Nope. I went to the apple store and this bitch ass lady went up to me and said "uhhhh... sir you have DAMAGED pins in the charging port, and because we label this as PHYSICAL DAMAGE, it is not covered under warranty, so you're going to have to pay 300 dollars for a replacement iPhone 5. And we don't repair just the charging port, because the charging port is connected to the ENTIRE PCB." Entire PCB my ass. she obviously did not know what the internals look like, and the replacement is extremely easy. I got my charging port fixed for 35 dollars a few hours after.
