How to successfully call in a gamertag (with previous alts)

This requires little to no effort and is a little different from all the other ways people do it.

I discovered this method myself not long ago and have decided to share it with you guys.

Only things required:
Your alts to have been on the account
Previous email
Gamertag

Step 1: Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX
Step 2: You will need to say you believe your account has been compromised, your email says it hasn't been created or doesn't exist
Step 3: Ask if they can send a verification code to your previous alts on the account (first alts ever put on it, occasionally some after it) they will then send out a code to all the previous alts even if they are removed.
Step 4: They will now be in the account, you just simply ask what the email/phone number is. They will give it to you since you got them in.
Step 5: Ask if they can update your info on it, they will add a secondary email and whatever else you ask.
Step 6: Tell them to forward a password recovery to the advocacy team so you can get back in your account.
Step 7: Wait around 24-48 hours for your reset link.

No problem @tennis hoping this helps everyone. I have seen quite a few scams and figured this might help some.
 
Have you seen any cases where advocacy team denied the recovery attempt within the 24 to 48 hour time span?
 
This will boost the increase of scamming, I wouldn't or couldn't be arsed to do this. But it's good I guess if your account has genuinely been hacked!

No, everytime I tested it and everyone I know that tried it worked everytime.

The agent makes the report and you are actually able to get them in the account. So I would say it's always a 90% chance of success.

Nice tut man, Is there anyway to do this purely by email? I hate ringing people I always get nervous lmao :S or is ringing up the best way?
 
@wizardry yes calling is the best way. Usually support chat will just recommend you to them.
@random not sure how you would know the answer yet...

I tried this like two months ago mate, when My tag got raped by another person.

Not sure what you did wrong, me and 4 other people have tested it and hasn't failed yet.

Calling a Gamertag in doesn't always work to successfully get it back, you'll most likely get it back and get it banned the next week. Anyways thanks for sharing this, this wouldn't be something I would do.
 
This doesnt always work. When my 10yr got jacked they didnt even know id consoled itthe plebs. Also all my other alts never showed up they said. Can you do this via xbox support chat.?
 
@chats it has a high percentage if it hasn't been swapped. When it is swapped then it is more likely to get banned or deleted.

They just updated all their tools with the past 4 months to be able to access older alts. It won't show them on there but they are able to send codes to them.

And you can, but they will more than likely just tell you to call since it involves "sensitive information" and all the chats are stored on their servers.
 

Thanks, i'm trying it now, if it works, i will give you something amazing for this. fingers crossed. i have used support on xbox.com, but they redirected me to microsoft accounts, now they have redirected me back to xbox.com.

This should work, no promises of course. But I do wish you luck. Let me know how it goes.
