How To Get CS:GO Skins?

I was just wondering how to get CS:GO skins, or if you have to purchase them.
 
To acquire a skin, one must either:

Earn them through random drops by playing in online community and official servers.
"Uncrate" them from opening weapon and promotional crates (Keys to open these crates cost around $2 USD)
Trading with other players (Never accept PayPal or reverseable payment processors, also I personally don't trade with anyone under 100 hours of CS:GO)
Or buy them from the Steam Market (Still a trade but different concept)
 
So basically the only way to get them is so buy them? Lol

It's just like gambling. You unbox crates and hope to get something valuable.
Alternatively you can just buy them directly from the marketplace.

But yes, they cost money.

No, you can get the not-so-good skins from in-game drops after playing relatively well in a matchmaking game.
Also, you do have to pay for a key yet $2 is cheap considering you can get items ranging from $1-$600
Pretty good imo, but I am not much of a better so I stay clear of it.
