How to check if SSN are real?

Person thinks he has my mom's ssn and sent me random numbers?

Need some help seeing if they are real, and if it is real, who gives them out?
 
Why don't you just ask your mom... I'm confused.

It should scare her. If you're legitimately worried about it ask her. That's the only you're going to find out. Just tell her someone contacted you online, and you're worried about identity theft. She might be mad, but she'll understand OP.
 
@Chromosome the main thing that may/can happen is identify theft, i recommended telling your mother immediately and go to (I forgot where but just search it up) to change the number

Yeah they were.

It could be random numbers though, he said he got it on "ssndob.cc" which doesn't look like a legitimate website in my eyes.

chances are he's manipulating the reputation of the site and using random numbers.

again, wouldn't risk not telling your mom that her identity is at risk.

there's another site named exposed or some shit.

They infiltrated SSN and selling off identities. question is, how do they know they have your moms?

anyways I suggest telling her asap. this could get ugly quickly
 
One way to see if the SSN is real is ask your mom about it or go to ssnvalidator dot com and punch in those numbers to see if the SSN is invalid a valid one
