I have been a video game addict for a while now. My mom just grounded me from video games for one month. Is there any way I can try to AVOID the temptation that will make it easier for me to not think about video games? If someone has an answer please give me a list of ideas that could take my mind off of this addiction.

Thanks for the help.

Rofl. Well go outside and snif the world.
Playing games isent all u do right? right?!
anyway if u'r mom took it and she'll never give it back till the month is over, go find a new hobby is the only option.

Oppss, I encounter this too I even got grounded because I got addicted lol. Ways how I forgot my addiction? Well, First I socialized with my friends in our neighborhood. We hang out in different places in our community. We even watch some basketball games in our court. Second, I tried to read books (anyway its one of my hobbies like playing games). try to think of other things that got your attention, I know you'll come up with a new idea. Good luck!

Video game addiction is a toughy. I would suggest trying to pick up reading, or watching t.v. instead. The best thing you can do is take the video game system and put it out of sight if you can. Preferably put it in a place where it's hard to get it out of and even if you do take it out once MAKE yourself put it back. Then when you feel like you've got it under control you can take the system back out. However, be ready for another roud of addiction because video games are just addicting things. I've had that problem with video games and with internet usage.

Well for me video games are just normal... if u get home pretty late ( 7ish) and u can't really go outside, and films/series ( the good onces) go on at 9ish and later so...
and also when it rains it's a good time spender ;D
