How Moderators Are Managed...

Guys do not post in this thread saying how certain people are bad mods or do not deserve it. That is not the point of this. The point is to fix the unfair, biased, somewhat corrupt, and flawed system on how the next staff are chosen. I have never, in this thread, said that anyone is doing a bad job, or that certain people don't deserve it. Some of you are taking this the wrong way and I am not trying to insult anyone or any of that, I am just trying to fix something that needs fixing desperately.

Yes, which is why they should have more power in the voting and get 3 votes rather than one or two. Sometimes the admins don't always do what is right even if they try to the best of their abilities and want to do what is best, which is why a vote such as this would be more reasonable compared to primarily one person deciding.

Think about it like this. Philly was the original guy who promoted everyone alone. He promoted Christy to help manage the site since taking care of a site with over .5 million posts is hard alone. So basically, he agrees with 99% of what Christy says. Now, Since you say that Christy basically gives mod/staff suggestions to Philly to be promoted, then it all goes back to Philly anyways. Philly basically backs up the whole staff team alone. He has to okay every single promotion alone. It all traces back to one person even if we did vote.

Yes, but say Christy doesn't like someone, she will put in a bad word for them, or may not even recommend them, even if they would be a great mod/staff member. OR even the other way around, what if they were Christy's good friend, or had done legit deals with her, she would favor them, which would also cause it to be biased. I didn't want to really mention any names here cause people may take offense, but I had to reply to you lol. And maybe instead of a voting system, multiple staff members would have to recommend a person, not just one.

Also, even though she owns the group that many of the recent moderators were chosen from, she still contacted Philly to okay all of us, and we all received a PM from Philly before we were promoted, so if you are trying to say we have a corrupt admin, then you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Also, stop with all this bullshit about how the staff team doesn't do shit. Dafuq are you talking about? You don't see the moderator logs, the mod cp, the staff chat, or anything else that the staff do behind the scenes. How the fuck are you just going to assume shit?

Only last thing directed towards Gr33d alone: There's already about one moderator per major section, and in my opinion, it's not the best thing. Sometimes, we have to wait all day for a moderator to take care of reports in their section because they had school or work when everyone else was just watching that person's reports all day wanting to do something about it. It's kind of a flawed system, but you wouldn't know that would you? You don't see any of the moderation we take care of. You're too busy complaining about the "shit job" we do. ._.

Also, I'm kinda tired and a little cranky. I'm sorry if I sound a harsh or mean, but a lot of this stuff shouldn't concern any of you if you don't break any rules anyways.

1. Thing is your supposed to learn the rules but you dont learn the rules you learn how to move and junk threads from the 30th page dont lie and tell me otherwise

2. Paul H was brought in because he is a myBB staff member and is helping with coding stuff on FK and actually requires admin. Hes probably the best staff member on right now too! LOL!

3. Gr33d knows hes been a mod thats what entitles him to write this thread

Well, I can tell you that I've only talked to Christy maybe once or twice before I was even a moderator. Also, I think that you're missing the point that she has every right pick pick who she pleases. She is an admin. It's her job. It's basics to how a forum system works. Maybe you feel that it's biased, but she could probably say the same thing to you about your original post on this thread.

Honestly, her job is hard and it puts a ton of pressure on her. Just about every action she does gets some negative feedback, and that can get to anyone. No matter who she could have picked, there would have been a group of angry people. You guys just make it worse by posting threads like this.

I mean the group can stay, but all I want, and apparently a shit load of other people too, is for an unbiased process of how they are chosen. And I think the best way to do that is for each and every staff member to vote. It is 100% physically impossible for one person to choose something and it not be biased, just thought I'd make sure you knew that.

In the end I'm fairly sure Christy isn't the one appointing new staff. Everything goes through Philly. I'm not going to go and appoint, say, GrƷƷd as staff without consulting the site owner. Not all new staff come from Envious, though as they must learn all the rules of FK they are a good group to pick from. I would have no problem appointing a non-Envious member to staff. As long as they're responsible, know the rules, and can get along with people I have no issue.

2. I know why he was brought in. Why don't you go become a staff member for MyBB, learn PHP, and get a license for web development? Then maybe you can become an admin too.

Yes I agree with this, but the problem is the Envious people have an unfair advantage that not all people have the ability to get and as of recently basically all that has been chosen are the people from Envious.

I agree, the system is a little biased. There is no reason to disagree. But having Envious helped me get noticed on this site.
I was a member who tried really hard to stay High Quality, and maintain a stature on this site.

It gave me the opportunity I wanted, and I have now. I feel as if I'm doing a good job keeping the marketplace clean. Of course I'm not on all day, so it may take a while, but it gets done.

The current mods are doing a pretty decent job at the moment, but the selection method could be a bit better.

Also: If they're active, know the rules well.. They are suitable for staff.
Join dates have nothing to do with it.

Exactly, Envious just trains members, therefore it's a great group to pick from regardless. And, members have been promoted before without Envious. xD

Yes but it's unfair because ONE person picks who gets into Envious, so someone extremely deserving may not get in. Maybe the voting should be done for who gets into Envious, then Philly choses who becomes the staff.

Even if someone was highly recommended by multiple staff members and would do a fine job in Envious and is extremely deserving they may not get in because one single person does not like them. So maybe a voting process to get into Envious.

One person started this website and choose it's staff. One person doesn't pick staff anymore anyways. The admins do vote on staff in the end anyways. If Philly or Christy doesn't okay a person, they won't get staff.

Yes but it is quite obvious that people get an advantage from Envious because they are trained and they become better at moderating, but what is unfair about the entire thing is that some deserving people don't get the opportunity. I just want an equal opportunity for all to achieve success cause right now it's not really fair.

I'll just hop in here, being an admin on bigger sites than the current one I run. Whilst being an admin, it's impossible to pick staff by yourself, it really is. You become anxious, and eventually ask for opinions from around the team. This is how I've done it, and I've been apart of on a few decently sized sites.

Exactly, so what if the one person running it didn't like you? You wouldn't have the opportunity you have now and you are doing a great job. So let's make it a little bit more reasonable for the selection process of who gets in.
