How Moderators Are Managed...

I completely agree with this. This sounds exactly like how members get into the "Veteran group". I feel as though envious is a group for people that Christy likes and if you are in envious and Christy likes you a lot, her opinion weighs heavily on Philly i believe so you will get mod which seems very biased. I feel as though actual "veterans" that have been here for a very long time like before summer should be a part of staff because they know what people like and they know what the site should look like. I feel as though most of the people that get staff are ass kissers/post boosters (Poop), not deserving HQ members (Chronos, Jon etc). But i also believe that their should be some rules in place to those who can never get nominated for a staff position such as; been banned for a reason(s) other than a vacation ban, have been in DWC, have been convicted of a scam etc. This voting system allows the forum team to come together as a democracy to vote on who they think is the most deserving and fit for the job. I apologize if this is comming off as redundant, but this is just my personal view.

I completely agree with this. One of the main problems is how biased the system currently is.

Ah idk about that, there could be much bribery and people voting for people just cause they are friends. That is why I think the vote should stick just to staff. Or do it like the Presidential election where the staff votes are the electoral votes and then the members votes would be the people's votes.

I'm going to have to say that I agree fully with this statement.

I'm not usually one t float my boat, but I'm going to be honest in this reply. The only reason I am unable to join the Envious group is solely because I do not have enough vouches. This says, because I am not vouched, or, I haven't done enough deals rather, is implying that I am no good to be a moderator. I would like to say that there are tons of high quality members who put 10 times more thought into their posts on this site than many others do, and like me, I feel like it just seems unfair that having too little rep, or not enough vouches to get into a certain group stops you from being available to represent FK as much as you could.

I do agree with what Gr33d has said here.

Well the point is to abolish the current system. The system is currently extremely biased and with many flaws. And yes I agree that it is stupid that you cannot MODERATE because you don't have vouches. Doing deals and getting vouches have nothing to do with moderating.

I have actually agreed with this since day one of when I registered to be on this forum. The main reason I wasn't active when I first joined was the "staff" wasn't really staff per se, but people that just abused their earned powers or did nothing at all. I will give the staff this though, they have definitely improved since the first time I had joined. I have some things that I don't particularly agree with Philly on, but I say that since it is none of my business on how Philly runs this forum. I just think plain and simple the staff needs to get their shit together and be staff. Of course, all this stuff that I just ranted about was because of the management of mods and staff. I also agree we should all be able to put input into who should be the next team member in a nonchalant manner, but of course show some concern but be calm and collected about it.

Note: To anyone I offended I am sorry, I just wanted to speak the truth in my eyes.

Exactly my point.

I don't think one's morals and capability should be judged because they haven't sold enough items, or have enough rep.

It's about having the best possible person who knows how to moderate well.

You only have an understanding of the rules because you have been staff for so long. You did not have an understanding of the rules when you first joined on staff. and @ first you were really bad staff member. now after 4 months you are a pretty good staff member because you learned the rules.

My point is that a staff member should know the rules before theyre promoted not after, and therefore my point stands

Exactly, and the people that already know the rules(primarily the veterans) are being left out because of a completely biased system.

Okay, I'm trying to stay out of this whole drama about recent staff picks, but I think someone has to say something because I'm tired of all the bashing going towards staff.

So on that note, what do you all think we do in Envious anyways? Obviously you haven't read the Envious Information thread. If you did, you would've realized that that the members in the group are REQUIRED to learn the rules of FK. Having a group like Envious probably makes the forum better off. It gives possible future moderators a chance to learn what they are doing before they are even offered a moderator position. Do you think actually think mods are just promoted with no knowledge of the rules of FK? NO! That would be fucking retarded.

Also, You guys all complain about how moderators are chosen from a paid group. First, Paul H. was promoted to Admin recently. He had nothing to do with Envious! Second, Christy is an admin. Who the fuck else is going to be choosing admins? If she wants to direct her group towards helping to create a better staff team by training them first, then that's fantastic! Also, even though she owns the group that many of the recent moderators were chosen from, she still contacted Philly to okay all of us, and we all received a PM from Philly before we were promoted, so if you are trying to say we have a corrupt admin, then you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Also, stop with all this bullshit about how the staff team doesn't do shit. Dafuq are you talking about? You don't see the moderator logs, the mod cp, the staff chat, or anything else that the staff do behind the scenes. How the fuck are you just going to assume shit?

Only last thing directed towards Gr33d alone: There's already about one moderator per major section, and in my opinion, it's not the best thing. Sometimes, we have to wait all day for a moderator to take care of reports in their section because they had school or work when everyone else was just watching that person's reports all day wanting to do something about it. It's kind of a flawed system, but you wouldn't know that would you? You don't see any of the moderation we take care of. You're too busy complaining about the "shit job" we do. ._.

Also, I'm kinda tired and a little cranky. I'm sorry if I sound a harsh or mean, but a lot of this stuff shouldn't concern any of you if you don't break any rules anyways.

Envious is in fact a paid group. You do not have to be a member in Envious to get mod or staff, Although it helps because you do learn a lot, its not a necessity. And Philly also has a say in who gets mod/staff, He was the one that PM'd Me.

I not once said that any of you have done a bad job, that is from the other people replying in the thread. I am saying that the system for selecting the staff is flawed and completely biased. Tell me how a vote from all the staff members to select the next member is less fair than one person selecting?

Okay, Philly and Christy usually decide together, not just one of them. A vote isn't a bad idea, but admins should still get a final say. They run the website, and they do have every right to promote/demote anyone they please.
