My friend just sent me this to my email and i thought you guys should read this.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles roll
ed into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

This professor is brilliant. Everyone on FK, make sure to not devote your whole childhood to becoming "known" over the internet, it will waste your childhood. My parents always told me to not wish away my life; well i did. I would give anything to be like 8 again. The world seemed so innocent and no wrong could be made. But now i realize the world we live in is messed up and if we don't kill ourselves we'll be the leaders of a messed up generation(s). Don't let anyone get you down because only God can judge you. People have no right to call you a fag or make fun of you at school because they don't know what you go home to. They don't know if you go home to a empty refrigerator, screaming and fighting, hitting and kicking, or no parents at all. You don't truly know someone until you spend a day and walk in their shoes. So while you can, be a kid and enjoy life, because before you know it you will be paying bills, paying for gas, getting married, having kids, having grandchildren, and becoming widow or a widower depending on who you are. Life is short, don't have a affair, and treat each day like it's your last day on earth, no regrets. And remember, you can only learn from your mistakes if you make them.

This is one of the best threads ever made on FK. Thanks, Hat.

This thread deserves to be stickied in my opinion. This is 100% true and I can relate to it in many ways.

Very true and nice thread. Very good to read, Hat. Thanks

Very nice thread Hat, I also think it should be stickied.

Tell that to the rest of the e-thugs who try to get "known" by taking aims/gt's.
It's a sad life, luckily for Rawr and I, we'll be rich as fuck soon.
Have fun JaCkINg AiMz and sitting on the computer forever.
Words of wisdom, take my advice or not, that's reality.

Wow. That professor is really clever. Great thread, thanks Hat.

Nice post.

I guess I'm set, because I'm atheist, god can't even judge me

This is a really inspiring thread well done!
