how do you change the colour of your username??

everyone has different colours and i have plain old black
so i was wondering how and if you can change it?

You have to join another usergroup. Certain groups and upgrade groups have certain username colors.
 
You cannot change the color of your username to your choice.

You can upgrade to Power, which will give you a blue colored username.
You can upgrade to Supporter, which gives you a black and white colored username.
If you're lucky, you can upgrade to Power+, which will give you a cool animated white and orange colored username.

You can get a different username color if you join a group too; groups pay an extra $50 to have a group username color.
 
Comes with different usergroups.

Power upgrade is blue, then different groups have different color schemes.

Go apply for a group, then
Make sure not to apply via UserCP, unless its Candy.

Good luck with finding a group. Horror is not open for recruitment.
 
As the users above stated, groups define the color or your usename. I'm in heartless, so I have red.
