When i used to do it i used Modio and USBXTAF, i never had a problem with the name not working. Maybe you need to look up a youtube tut to see if you're doing it properly.
I saw something on YouTube where you can change your Xbox live gamer tag with le flufee so I open my Xbox profile on le flufee and when you click on edit profile it says edit gamertag so I changed the gamertag to logic and saved it rehashed and resigned it on modio and put it in my USB and I went on my profile name and it said logic but when I click to sign in it says error I need help

I was afraid you were going to say that, it won't work on your xbox live gold account. Because that GT is taken it won't allow a duplicate copy unless it's a completely different profile. AKA a fake one.
The program i used is Eclipse for changing my GT.
