Sadly, this is actually how some of the music in Brazil is, and people will go crazy over it. But it's only for a couple months or so, then everyone forgets them when a new 1 hit wonder comes on.
 
Most likely his parents are rich as fuck, and that's why he was able to produce his own remake of Friday - Rebecca Black.
