I've mentioned this before in my introduction I believe.. Wednesday I get hip surgery After it got delayed a little bit I'm finally getting it and I'm getting really nervous about it. When I went to the ER a little over two weks ago, they knew instantly that I had a fractured hip by the way I was holding my leg and by how much pain I was in. I'm still in a lot of pain.
For those wondering what happened, here's how it went down.. A little over two weeks ago on a thursday I was running warmups for soccer. I noticed my IT Band (google it) was tight, but didn't bother to stretch it again since it usually loosens up during running. Now I've had the IT Band problem for over a year now. It's where a tendon around your hip snaps around the hip bone causing your hip to pop out and back in really fast. Now this happens to me everytime I walk. Well back to the main story, I was on my 6th lap out of ten when I felt a strong snap. It took a few seconds for me to realize what happened and for the pain to kick in. I sat down immediately and was taken to the ER. After I got x-rays it showed that my tendon tore away a peice of the bone when it snapped. They couldn't do much at the ER except give me pain medication.
The next day I went to the Orthopedist and the day after that I got an MRI. Now the MRI showed i tore my hamstring and a connector of the hamstring. I have tons of fluid build up, my SI join is out of place a little and everything is inflamed. They scheduled surgery for me as soon as possible. I have one day till my surgery. I'm so nervous. I don't know if i'll need a walker or a wheelchair. I've been on crutches since the ER trip.
This is basically explaining my inactivity for a few to several days. Wish me luck
