I actually read a few articles about this a few months back when they were still planning this. The guy needs a special suit that is similar to what astronauts wear. Pretty cool.

Technically this isn't about the altitude he is jumped (or falling) from. But the speed he will reach. Whole point of this is that he will be the first man to break the sound barrier during free-fall.
