All Day Win said:Dungeoneering said:All Day Win said:Like Fixing homes= Wood shop
Paying Taxes= Economics/Math
Driving= Drivers ED
Don't know what Kind of home you have made 100% out of wood but... yea
At my school they don't do taxes and stuff in regualar math You have to go for advanced math and Then its just a small part of that course
Drivers ED Yea
What I'm trying to get across is They need to teach every person to Have a proper Life that they can support for them self and Not need another person there to help them and what not
Like right now If I switched your spark plug wires around I bet you wouldn't know what was wrong with your car You would just call a tow truck and get a Mechanic to fix it =)
Same thing would be for Plumbing or insulating a house
Or electrical work in your house
Ever heard of a carpenter?
Immortality said:The Elite, I feel ya. When it comes to math, algebra doesn't benefit us in real world. Most of the stuff you learn in English is pretty useless. Shakespeare for example, does not have much use in real world.
All's well that ends well
As dead as a door nail
Eaten out of house and home
Fair play
Fight fire with fire
For ever and a day
Foul play
lend me your ears
Good riddance
Heart's content
High time
Hot-blooded
I have not slept one wink
In a pickle
I will wear my heart upon my sleeve
Lie low
Love is blind
Make your hair stand on end
Night owl
Send him packing
The Devil incarnate
The game is up
The Queen's English
There's method in my madness
Up in arms
We have seen better days
Wild goose chase
Woe is me

Looking back at high school the only thing I miss is some of the people. Like all day win said it's just a day care the teachers just want to get paid and leave and the classes teach toward standardized tests which are also pointless, like the FCAT where I live
The Elite said:High School is absolutely useless. My whole family has been through it, and they have all told me that the only subject which was of any use would have had to be Mathematics and maybe English. What people plan to do in College/University, usually High School has not prepared you for anything. I'm speaking for myself in Australia, but others overseas may feel differently.
Right now I'm writing a 3 page essay for Religion, and I see no reason as to how this would be helpful for me even if I was studying to become a Priest. Ridiculous, and definitely a waste of everyone's time. We might as well go to school and study "General Knowledge", a lot of adults lack it.
Just my 2 cents.

Dungeoneering said:Well I googled it and came up with Reserved officers training
he Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college-based, officer commissioning program, predominantly in the United States. It is designed as a college elective that focuses on leadership development, problem solving, strategic planning, and professional ethics.
