I created a logo for my friend Monsty, but I don't know which one I like better. Which is better in your opinion?

First one is better IMO.
I have to say though, I kind of dislike the background gradient and the shadow is thick to me.
Nonetheless, it's pretty good.

As a suggestion, I think you should drop the background and the shadow and have it as just a 2d logo with a transparent background.

Just asking about the logo for now. The backing isn't staying and I just used the shadow for some depth so the final images didn't look terrible. Thanks for the suggestion though.

EDIT: Most likely using a water surface for the final backing.

Is he planning on using this for his avatar or..? I preferred option B because I'm more a fan of lighter colors.
