Help Please.

so I have a quick math question that I can't seem to wrap my head around.


The question (word for word):

The LCM of 8 and 5 is actually the product of 8 and 5, which is 40. Is the LCM of two numbers always the product of the numbers? Provide an example using two numbers where the LCM is smaller than the product of the 2 numbers.

so if any of you could help me with this, that would be great, and if you can provide an explanation that would be even better.

Probably shouldn't have put this in life support.

6 and 10 have an LCM of 30 but when multiplied together they equal 60. The LCM is less

3 and 6 have an LCM of 6 but when multipled together they equal 18. The LCM is less in this case too
