Whenever you switch your webhost to a different webhost, do you lose your data? Ex. if I were to have installed IPB and I wanted to switch to an offshore host, would I lose all that data like the forum software, etc because of switching?

Or no?

No, you won't lose your data. I think it just gets transferred or something.
But all the things you've uploaded onto that domain will stay as it is.
Edit: Also, congratulations on 1,000+ posts.

Are you sure?

I thought that it'd delete your data and shit because the host that you currently have is your storage for your data.

Also, thank-you! c: I made an IPB forum too, if you'd like to join PM me dawg. <3

Nope it won't get lost. Before you switch, you need to take backups.
Upload the backups to your new host.

Sorry for the late reply. :p Went to go get something to eat.
But yes, I'm 100% about this.
Just make sure you make back-ups and such and re-upload it onto your new host, as Justice stated.

PM your site man. :) Haven't been on a decent IP.Board site in a long while, besides Forum Core.

Well since it would be on different servers, your new server wouldn't have any of the IPB files. Connect via FTP to your current host, backup your IPB files locally, and then just reupload to your new host.
