Hard drive switch new console

I have just bought a xbox 360e brand new.

If I put my hard drive in this from my old xbox 360 does it add the new console automatically on my accounts?

I dont wanna lose all my dlc and games but want to start a fresh really.

Can I have some advice please guys. What do I do.?

Can't you just transfer your account onto your USB then transfer it back to the other xbox?

I have games and dlc from 20 accounts lol I suppose the only way is to licence transfer every account. But thats no happening man.

You obviously dont understand what im talking about. I have a fresh console im not going to riddle it with infected tags for the dlc and games am I. Wake up man.

Well I think you'll need to licence transfer as the content is licensed to the the console itself.

I did this a while ago and everything from accounts I could recover was fine, everything else corrupted. I believe this was more due to it being 2 1/2 years since I last played online, though.

I took my old HDD apart and put it into my slim. You're not going to hurt anything. The worst that could happen is have it corrupt and have to delete things..

Thanks @color for your feedback. What about if I put a 32gb usb in mh old xbox and copy the contents apart from the profiles? Then put the usb into my new xbox and copy it over?

Doubt it'd work. I've tried this in the past and been unsuccessful.

I have tried putting in flash drives and copying over like you're wondering.
It works, the only thing is, if you have multiple accounts with different games, and you move it from its original licensed Xbox to a new one, you will have to sign in to the account linked with the game you want in order to play it, otherwise it will NOT start up, even if it shows in your list.

But if you do not mind constantly switching profiles trying to figure out which game is linked with it, then by all means go for it
