"Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary – will this mean a remake of a remake? Sources suggest that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is this year’s new Halo game.... Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be out in time for this Christmas and will contain Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 – or at least that’s according to a rumor from Engadget. For months now it’s been heavily rumored that a remake of original Xbox game Halo 2 will be released this Christmas. But the announcement of Halo 5 last week seemed to suggest something else for this year’s Xbox One game. A boxed set of remakes also doesn't really fit the hints, but then it’s always hard to know how much companies are factoring in existing rumors into what they say. As it it is though the rumors don’t have much meat on them, with nothing but speculation on the developer and no technical details. You’d assume that the Halo part of the package was an update of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary but that’s also not mentioned. Even though apparently Halo ODST and Reach won’t be included as part of the collection that’s still an awful lot of work to get the games working on Xbox One, which is a non-trivial task for even the Xbox 360 games."
