Guest welcome message?

As members of the forum, I was just wondering what you guys look for in a welcome message to the forum.

I will be adding this message to the index of the forum and will be shown to guests.

The message is ment to tell guests why they should register on the forum and explain what we have to offer.

If you can give me any suggestions, I will be very greatfull.

Im being serious, like ive just had the forum reviewed by multiple people and they have all said theres no guest welcome message.
If you are being serious then I hope your supplying
 
um no i wont be supplying. would it be possible to create an app that looks at a members IP adresse and and if it is a new IP (not on a record within the app) display a welcome page and when the app finds a new IP it saves it so that the welcome page is not displayed to that member again?
 
Ive got a message to members with less than 5 posts.
But i need a guest message which displays to people who havent registered.
See the review for a good template or base.
 
maybe make a homepage that links to the forums that describes the forums and has a welcome message
 
We can do but thats something that we will build up over time.
I just need a message asap.
 
If the message is sent upon registration then it could be something along the lines of

"Welcome to CyberTechForums! *give a little background on the sire* *tell who would be interested and what kind of people we're looking to attract*
