Ok so this is a map of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. As you can see it is very VERY large. The area surrounded in red is Los Santos and Blaire county (where) GTAV takes place, the purple is San Fierro (Modeled after San Francisco) and the green is Las Venturas and the surrounding desert (Modeled after Las Vegas). All Three of these cities were interconnected to make up San Andreas. Rockstar claims that GTAV will be larger than SA, Max Payne 3, and Red Dead Redemption combined. If you ask me that is pretty frickin' large. Now, keep in mind GTAV is only Los Santos and Blaire County, which in the map i show you it's surrounded in red. SA was 13.9 sq miles and that was including LV and SF (Los Venturas and San Fierro). Now if i look at the map correctly, LS (Los Santos) makes up almost half of the map. I don't understand how GTAV will be bigger than all those games combined when the map will be over half the size smaller according to the map. Rockstar confirmed that the water portion of the game will be 5 sq miles to dive in, well if you were around to witness SA you would remember you could dive in that game too. To be honest i'm having my doubts about GTAV. When the game was first announced, Rockstar said it would take place in San Andreas. Now if i remember correctly, San Andreas is a state consisting of LS, SF, and LV. When i learned GTAV would only take place in LS and Blaire County (Country side and small surrounding towns and woods. You know, the areas we would all drive at at night to search for Bigfoot). In my opinion Rockstar messed up bad by leaving out San Fierro and Las Venturas. If you remember and were old enough, GTA: SA came out in 2004, and GTAV is coming out this year (2013) which will feature one of the same areas from SA. It will be at least another 10 years at least until we play another GTA game that features the areas from GTA: SA. I think the next game will be in Vice City honestly, or maybe if technology improves between now
and the next game, maybe we will be able to have a game where we can "fly" from one state to the next. You know like from Las Venturas to Liberty City like you did in that one mission in San Andreas where you went as CJ and messed the mafia up in that church/bar place as it snowed outside. Anyways back on topic, my final stance on GTAV is that i feel it's getting too much good rep as people aren't looking at the details. I hope i don't get bored of this game after a week and i do hope it's as big as Rockstar claims it's going to be, i just wished it was going to have the whole state in the game; not just one lousy city and surrounding "BFE". All that is left now is to return to Grove St. and see what has become of CJ's house 20 years later. (SA took place in the 90's, GTAV like GTAIV takes place in present day.) If V isn't as big as San Andreas, i still think San Andreas was the best GTA game created.
So ForumKorner, what are your likes and dislikes so far about GTAV and what has been your favorite game in the series and where would you like the next game to take place in?
