Alright so I've noticed that when you're added or accepted to a new group, the only indication you COULD get is a mention in a recruitment thread, and that doesn't always happen. I think a nice addition to the site would be something, either an automated PM, or just an alert, would be beneficial. Right now users have to check the userCP to see what groups they are a part of.
