GIMP - How to create a glow - Images

1) In this tutorial I will teach you how to make a blur for any render or image. In this example I will be using a text layer.

2) Duplicate your layer three times

3) Move the three duplicated bellow the original layer

4) Now change the colour of the duplicated layers to the colour you want the blur to be, you can do this using colourise.

5) Now go to "Filters", "Blur" & then "Gaussian Blur"

6) Select 5.0 x 5.0 for the first duplicate, 10.0 x 10.0 for the second duplicate and for the final duplicate select 15.0 x 15.0
