Gay Marriage Now Legal In All 50 States.

Remember folks, regardless of how you feel - Homosexuality was universally considered a psychological disorder until 1974... There are still many accredited psychologists that agree that still, homosexuality is a psychological disorder.

People have simply become more tolerant of it.

I'm talking US catching up with UK. so yes.

No offense, but as an American- the last thing I would ever want my country to catch up to is the UK. The UK over the past 15 years or so has become the shining standard in everything that is not liberty.

I don't see how you can be against this whatsoever. And no, you sweaty nerds wont have any gay dudes hitting on you I'm sure you don't have to worry.

It's everyones right under the 1st amendment to be against it if they wish.

Okay, so you can make it technical. You're still the douche getting weird looks when you call out someone for being themselves. I mean being against how someone wants to live and how they feel comfortable is the stupidest thing ever.

I'd ask you to go back and read my replies before you decide to apologize for calling me a douche. As I said earlier, I don't personally care who you marry so long as you're not infringing upon my rights... but I am not going to disrespect anyone else's right to disagree.

Further, a person is not a douche because they simply disagree with you or the way you live. It's 100% their god given right to disagree. Douchey, well... I would say taking away a persons individual right to their own opinion... That's douchey.

You'd learn a thing by taking more after the UK. Like how to keep from killing each other daily, and having proper education system in place.

Same sex marriage isn't really that big of a deal. Sure people may not want a guy hitting on them, nor would they want to see them showing public affection, but they're happy. As fruity as that might sound, that's all that should really matter in my opinion.

The only thing I see wrong with this whole situation is how many people challenge our government with things such as the bible and God. Like using the excuse that same sex marriage is a sin, and you will go to hell for it. The U.S. is very diverse in terms of religion and how it is spread apart, so the words of a Christian can't possibly affect the situation, it's just senseless complaints and empty threats.

Nonetheless, the way I see it, religion and politics are two subjects that should never be mixed. That's my opinion on the subject anyways.

Also to add, there's no reason to try and act hard for people over the internet claiming how against same sex marriage you are, 95% chance this will never affect you, so you really have no room to start bashing it.

You're quoting an Englishman who was heavily influenced by the works of George Orwell, Che Guevara, and Karl Marx. Can I ask how old you are before I remind you of the conflicting views of American freedom versus the socialist and semi-fascist views of the aforementioned figures?

You know this is when they say God will bring the destruction of the Earth.

Except that god isn't real

The UK has a higher crime rate per-capita than the US. Just an FYI.

Even if that weren't true, you as a citizen of the UK have fewer liberties than Americans citizens.

Not really. I was just throwing that out there. I actually don't believe in a God either.

I wasn't intending for the "semi-fascist views of the aforementioned figures" to be brought into play. The quote was merely a representation of what my stance on this is. And to anyone who doesn't believe in equal rights, welcome to the 21st century. And I'm 20.

I can't knock the sentiment that he might think it deserves to be respected, but before anything, our constitutional rights as Americans must be respected first. I'm talking the 1st amendment right to not be accepting of same-sex marriage.

We may disagree, but we should always respect our right to opposing views.

To do anything else would be Orwellian.

It only appears higher because in the UK 'crime' is classed different from in the US. It's not logical to compare them in raw stats therefore, as saying ones committed crimes in the US is completely different from saying the same in the UK.

Having fewer liberties is nothing, to be assured of my safety that I'll not be randomly shot on the street by some nutter who's bought a firearm at the corner shop.

You can't buy a firearm at a corner shop, just a fyi.

Perhaps it's because the UK is over-legislated and the US is not.

Just an FYI, I grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in Los Angeles county. Lived there for 20 years, and have never been shot.

Further, the instances of people being shot by legally acquired firearms is a fraction of a fraction. 99.9% of criminals who use firearms for nefarious purposes generally buy them illegally.

Firearms are not nearly as accessible as the liberal news media would have you believe.
