Okay basically my question is, my brother in law is giving me 4 games that he bought via GoD(Xbox Live Market Place) I cant play em on my console on my gametag, but I can on his GT, so my question is, if I transfer his games license to my Xbox, can he still play the games on his console? thanks

Im totally new with this games license transfer
 
I don't think you can, but I'm not 100% sure so don't take my word for it.
Maybe you should contact an ambassador or something on xbox
 
Yes you can. There are 2 types of Licenses. Profile license to the content bought, and Console licenses to the content purchased. You will simply be transfer the content from his profiles license to your profiles license.

So with this method if he is giving them to me, do we both need to be online to play the games? or can we play the games offline?

I mean, like if he gives me his licenses, does he going to need to be online to play his games or not?

It's not a method. Xbox allows this. It's called a license transfer..
And yes. He will still be able to use his downloads as will you.

yeah I just did a try out and yeah he can play his game but he needs to be online, anyways one last Q, once I transfer licenses what I do? just start the game that I download it from his profile or redownload the whole game?
