GamerTags showing available on one account and not another?

So I ran a few lists today and found some semis out there in the wild, during the process of putting them on accounts I noticed some usernames would say unavailable on any account with a free name change but show as available on my main which of course costs $9.99 to change.

I thought maybe it was a bug until I tried claiming them and so far 2/2 have worked but only on that account.

Has anyone else come across this? Is there a detail I am missing here?

Update: after a few new accounts I eventually find one they show available on, really strange but oh well.

I have seen this. Wasn't sure if it was just me. Maybe Xbox is patching turbos somehow.

brb working on a new turbo which just pays the $10, and beats all the other noobs.

This happened to me. I tried swapping this tag and it said it was available but it was turboed.. lol

I wasn't even using a turbo all by hand registering inactive gamertags.

It was a joke.
I'm not doing that.

If you see if the gamertag is available on one account it temporarily reserves the gamertag
