Just making sure, US and UK have different live cards, right? Like US cards won't work on a UK account, correct?

yes their is, its called a account locale migration. You can do it online on xbox.com , but listen closely, you can only do it once a year.

No it's not possible to change the region.

Go to www.xbox.com and then once you have signed in, go to my account. and i believe there should be a link on the my account page that says manage account region...
