That sucks, however if you have the tools its fairly easy to fix your Xbox.
 
Well I think I have a dying laser :/ I've tried everything from changing the thermal paste, adding risers/razor, literally everything. Black ops 2 just freezes within minutes of playing it. GOD don't however

It's your disk then. Sell it and get a new one or something. The slightest scratch in the right place can freeze an Xbox.
 
The disc was BRAND new. Tried my brothers too. Same problem, then went and exchanged the disc and still the same problem. Cleared cache and all, formated hdd; plued without it and shit and its always the same.

Well is it dirty at all? What about the fan? Is everything clean?
 
I just finished drinking and now I'm off to bed. I have to wake up at 8 AM tomorrow to do a garage sale. Shits going to suck.
 
Not sure why my comment didn't post but it wasn't really dirty. I had way worse, just a small bit of dust. Cleaned the fan, heat sinks, still freezes.

Did you get all dust out of your drive? Literally all of it, and put fresh grease on the rail thing that moves the laser?
 
Shoot some fireworks in my friends neighborhood to try to get the cops called.
 
Took the dust out but didn't apply grease, it doesn't have any problems from my point of view, it actually moves just fine, any last tips? Gonna take it apart early tomorrow i guess haha.

Clean it out really good, cross your fingers, and if all else fails buy a new one cheap on ebay. :/
