free antivirus

(Microsoft security essentials) this is a free antivirus protection program, it does have a paid verso but the free one is not a trial an i do believe it comes pre=installed with certain new windows 8 PCs because i recently got a new windows 8 Toshiba an it was pre-installed, if you do not have a anti virus or keep returning your comp. to factory default for the free Norton trial like i used to, i would highly recommend trying it.

What is the paid version. Please enlighten me onto what that one is? I myself have NEVER heard of a "paid" version of MSE.

when i went to the website it gave me an option to upgrade for a fee, i did not look into it much further into because i knew i would not be able to pay for it an sorry for not being able to assist you about your question

it poped up as i was installing it as an offer to upgrade, thier is a a topic about it on ZDNet(http://www.zdnet.com/blog/microsoft...of-security-essentials-to-existing-users/6710) but i quickly declined an did not read because i couldn't pay for anything, it is possible i am wrong though an declined a different type of offer, an if that is the cas i am sorry for misleading you.
