Ah shit I'm fucking pissed. This afternoon some guy passed by to pick up this digital TV terminal that I was selling since I changed subscribers. He gave me 30$ for it but then called me back an hour later and was like "WTF I spent an hour on the phone with the subscriber and they couldn't get it activated. This don't work." I was telling the guy that it worked when I uninstalled it so there shouldn't be a problem but if it doesn't work, pass by and I'll give you the 30$ back. I'm not one to scam but still, FUCK! it sucks to have gotten money and then need to give it back. Now I'm just regretting having answered the phone call. Sure the guy knows where I live but if I don't answer the call, he doesn't know when I'm home so I doubt he'd just come by in fear of no one being home to answer the door. Dammit! Not that much money I know but just irritating because it could have been avoided. I just gave it back to him. This blows.

Have you tried it again to see if it works?

he probably dropped it

Lol how do you know he didn't already have a broken one and just gave you back his messed up one?

You do relise you probably got scammed yes?

I'm going to have to agree with Ireppgold here, it does seem like a scam.
You might've been able to confirm that it was your one by the serial number if you were able to scavenger up where that kind of details would be listed.

I doubt the guy would drive 1 hour back and forth to come bring it back because he wanted to scam me. When he called me to say it didn't work, he was home. I heard his kids and everything in the background.

Just because he had kids doesn't mean he didn't scam you. :p Also, some people are desperate thieves. so someone would probably drive that long for a quick buck.

He might not have lived an hour away, we could be wrong and it did stuff up on the way to his place with improper care and he thought it was your fault.
But it does seem a little suspicious.

I guess you could be right but I do remember the terminal working when I took it down and switched subscribers that's why I'm confused. Either way, there's nothing I can do about it now.

Next time, say no refunds. Or show him it working in your house?

Problem solved.

I wasn't able to show him it working because when I switched TV subscribers, they removed the dish on my house and put a new one that isn't compatible with the old terminal I sold him.
