First Gaming Computer Build

So after seeing a few of my friends get new computers, and winning some money at the casino, I decided I would venture out to create my first budget gaming computer. (with the help of a friend btw).

Hardware:
- AMD Phenom II x4 840 3.2 GHz 2.0 MB total cache
- Biostar A780L3G Motherboard
- 520W PSU
- Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3
- GeForce GTX 460 768MB 192-bit GDDR5
- Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Total Cost for Hardware = $410 (after 40$ mail-in-rebate)

Externals:
- Case = 45$.
- screen = already had
- mouse + keyboard = already had

Total Cost of Externals = $45

Total Computer Cost = $455

I'll add pictures once it's all in and setup. Should be in tomorrow (unfortunately I'll be to busy to setup tomorrow).

This is pretty nice for the price, what kind of monitor do you currently use?

Some ancient one that I got 5-6 years ago. Max resolution, 1024 x 860 (something like that) HECK YES.

That's kind of next on the agenda, as a nice screen makes a big difference. But that will cost about as much as the computer did and I did not have the money to spend at the moment (well, I do but don't care too).

The motherboard and processor were a mere 100$ That was BAMF in my opinion.

That's quite a decent computer for the price, you could really use another screen though by the sound of it. I was amazed at the difference when I got a HD monitor instead of my crappy, 480p one.

Yeah, I know I need one :/ but I don't want to drop the 300-400$ into the screen right now, that's almost as much as I'm paying for the computer lol. But I have a 52' 1080p TV that I can use for now.

I do need a copy of Windows 7 if anyone is selling btw.

That PSU looks pretty bad, the PSU is the component you absolutely shouldn't skimp on in a build.

Yea, I was looking at that, it is doing fine as of now. But I may upgrade it if it shows sign of weakness.

Was going to take pictures as I went, but am so tired after the LP concert I just wanted to get it done. Will post pics tomorrow (maybe).

I'm also going to be building a gaming computer (once I get a job it'll take about 2 months to come up with the money). Nice, but the PSU, ugh.

The PSU is working great atm, no problems.

The comp over all is being sexy.
