Filming with imitation guns, in public.

So, I have a quite concern for this, and I don't want any of my friends getting hurt.

I have around 10 prop airsoft rifles, that do actually look real. But, I want to film around the neighborhood, and probably vacant areas that will not attract public attention (hopefully).

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this, and has tried it before?

Btw, I live in the USA.
 
Legally (In UK anyway) you have to paint the gun orange to show it's a air-soft gun. (Which is stupid, paint a real gun orange and profit!)

Danger, I'd say depending on the laws in your state you would have to get a "permit to film". I'm sure you could call the police station's non emergency number and ask?
 
They are actual air-soft guns or just complete prop guns? No way to hurt anyone? (Apart from hitting someone over the head with it)

Tbh, some of the guns if you hit it over someones head, it would most likely break it.

But yeah, totally fake. If you were to put a BB in there, then a little sting would occur if shot.

I may do that, just don't know a non emergency number.
 
Well, it depends how realistic you want the filming/editing to be.

You will need to use the BB's to imitate the path of the "real bullet" in the editing.

As for ringing up, I wouldn't. But go to the nearest police department near you, if you can't ring a non-emergency number.

But yeah, that should be easy.

I don't think it would be a problem to film, if you got permission, if needed.
However I doubt you would need permission/a permit, to do so.

I assume you aren't actually firing the BB's though, or are you for extra added effect on your friends "pains"?

EDIT: Clicked the link, I remember seeing the video a few weeks/days ago.
 

Hopefully, they can just give me an okay. Maybe have a cop in-case someone decides that we shouldn't be doing it.

I just now remembered, I have a cousin who's on a SWAT team. Maybe he can watch what we do. :I

We're gonna film tomorrow. Hopefully my negro friend will stop being lazy, and come shoot with us.

Call the local authorities and tell them where you are filming and what you intend to do and go around to neighbors and explain to them as well. We had to do how this routine.
 
Just try it Film with them and If cops come Drop the guns instantly and Say your making a short film and you will be gone shortly

Just tell the people who live nearby that your doing it, if they see you, not to panic. Also call the local police station to tell them, because that;s where any 911 calls would go to. (I think).
