Tried making a nice sleek GUI. Failed miserably.

It's not too bad. Look's more like a info page or something.

The buttons should have something that lets you know which one you are looking at. Other than that, it is nice work. :)

I don't see why I would need a lighting source for the buttons/tabs. They have a gradient on them, if that's what you were talking about it.

Originally I was going to keep it all flat and use simple icons, but after a bit of messing around with the contents I had, I decided to drop it and see what I can do with what I had so far.

Only if it was a real usable GUI.

Yes indeed.

They should have a little arrow or something to indicate the current tab.

If you look at the gradients of the buttons, you'll see the difference, slightly though.
I didn't bring out too much since it was the last thing I was working on before I had trashed it.

I like how you made those gradients. They're simple yet good looking, especially the 'pressed' one since in all honestly, I still have some problems figuring out how to do one properly without having it looks weird.

I also like how he didn't over do them. Good job.

Simplicity is the key to a good looking layout. Totally overdoing the blending setting just ruins the whole product, like I did, many, many times, haha. :)

I do think you did a great job in general.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with what you've got so far, although I have seen a similar GUI which uses a different sort of individual omni light on each of its buttons.

I think it would be a lot more understandable if I were to show you an example of what I'm talking about - I'll try finding it. I like what you've came up with so far though.

I wouldn't mind seeing as to what you mean.
'Never cease to learn', right?
