So its been a few weeks now since F1 2011 came out and I thought id give you a few of my thoughts of the game so far.
I pre-ordered the game from Steam so that I could play the minute it was released as Steam allows you to download the game before hand. Unfortunatly it took over an hour for steam to unlock the game (for what reason, I dont know). And after I finally got playing the game I was almost falling asleep it as it was around 2AM.
Anyway, next morning I got up and had a play around for a while, I went straight for the Career mode and wow, theres a huge difference from the old game. Ignoring graphics for a moment, the cars handling is so much better than the old game. The steering actually works and the braking is so much more realistic. I had a few issues with the sensitivity of my controler but that can all be configured in the settings.
I had a few issues at first with a bit of lag and low fps, but its been fixed and now the game runs really smoothly with the exception of china (it was really laggy on the old game too.) Another thing Im not too keen on is the loading time. This might just be me but I have to wait a whole lot of time on loading screen inbetween races etc.
I also havent been able to play online yet. Because a person in your party is effectively your host (like MW2) you have to rely on the host having a good net. Ive lost connection to the host 3 times now and combined with the loading times it takes around 10 minutes just to connect.
But this game is amazing, it isnt as easy as F1 2010 and the realism is simulator like. I still think theres some work to be done in the form of patches but this is a top game and will keep me ocuppied till November.
