Explanation to my demotion

Too be honest I'm not quite shocked. I'm sorry to hear that you were demoted but the way things have been going on around this Forum, it's quite senseless. Chewbaka has been around longer than most and is a respectable admin. But the only reason you can provide was because his activity was decreasing? Lmao..

I as well don't really agree with Glen, like most. You said a month ago things were going to start changing and the only thing that changed was an introduction to a buggy new theme. You say you are going to expand the website and we are going to get many new people and are going to need new staff openings but yet you are demoting staff that have been around the longest. :? confused.

I have just bought out one of our main rivals. Give it a chance there's still a lot of work to be done.

Guys just be patient. We can't predict what will happen we just have to wait. Stop complaining about @"Glen" when infact we alone without him wouldn't be able to accomplish this.


None of you have the knowledge that we need to make this forum flourish again. So just shut up and wait. If you don't like it, the doors over there no-one is forcing you to stay it's a choice you have to make and ask yourself.. Do you want to help the community grow and have a fun community or are you just gunna talk shit and not do anything.

TBH, Admins should just do there jobs, which is:
1) Moderate the forums
2) Be active and friendly
3) Contribute to the forums (as anybody/everybody should)
4) Help people in need


Nothing more, nothing less. "Admins should have to contribute to the forums" I agree on. It may sound silly, but Admins should also contribute to the forums. Its more of a role-model thing than anything else, tbh. But honestly, everybody at one point or another should contribute, and being admin doesn't excuse you from that.

Yes, it was stupid to have adam added to the "ADMIN" usergroup, but as @"Glen" said, IT WAS JUST THE USERGROUP! He didn't have access to absolutely ANYTHING but having the usergroup on his name. Nothing special, it was just a few friends messing around with eachother. No need to get butthurt/jealous about it.

@"Chewbaka" Sorry for your demotion, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can probably just earn it back. And even if you don't want to, thats up to you. Its not like theres much to moderate on this forums at the current moment anyways. TBH if i got admin, and lost it a month later, I wouldn't care. Being admin is just all for show, letting people know who you are and what you can do. Powers don't earn you respect, or at least I don't believe that.

I am just going to stop beating around the bush here. I know there isn't an explanation. I know this was a spur of the moment decision. Glen got angry over something I said to him (relating to him giving someone an owner usergroup, which I didn't know was a "display" usergroup). It sucks he let anger get the best of him, just like when Mike got demoted.

Also, I want to give my opinion on buying BA. It was a terrible idea (could be wrong). If Runegear is trying to turn into a "General Gaming Forum", why should we buy out niche forums? I will tell you this, forcing members into a tight community is hard. If BA would have bought us, I wouldn't have stayed there.

I agree with Chewy, but the deal is done and we can only do our best to stand behind Glen on his decision.
And they fact BA was invite only, and many people there liked it that way I have a feeling most people won't like the conversion.

Well we don't really know what is happening, he could be, hopfully just leaving BA alone and leaving it the way it is, but just advertise RG to BA.
If he merged them, sort of would be a dick move for them.

Well either way it's bringing more people into the Forum. And you don't want skids? Well I highly doubt any "real" hackers would come to RG...
And even leechers bring money into the site, lol.

I'm pretty sure the community is aiming for a BETTER community. Glen may be going for money, but ultimately, we pay for our memberships which then goes to Glen.

He gets his money from us, so if we have a good, active and intelligent community, he'd bring in more money and a good forum.
