Throughout this section, you have read and examined two different narrative types and their characteristics—epics and ballads. Now it is time to experience how to write a ballad—something that would make Hume proud as you connect your experiences and perceptions. For this assignment you will write a one-page ballad with either the call-and-response technique similar to "Thinking Blues" or the more narrative ballad style like "I've Got What It Takes."
