When the world ends (not knowing how) or how the world ends (not knowing when)

I hate you so much for posting this, probably the hardest question to ever answer considering if 1. you know when the world ends but you dont know how to prepare for it so you'll just go completely insane 2. if you know how it ends you'll be spending your entire life preparing for it and not know when it comes for all you know it could be for another 2,000 Years

I'd much rather know how the world ends, than to know the actual date of the ending. Death has been a subject I've pondered about for a really long time during my personal psychological and philosophical studies, and it's not something that genuinely inculcates fear in me anymore.

Also, speaking of 'the ending of the world' -- just because human life would cease to be, doesn't necessarily imply that the world would be coming to an end. In any case, the more appropriate term should be 'the ending of the world as we know it'. After humans would be gone from the face of the planet (assuming this end would wipe out literally every human), there would still be creatures walking the earth, going about their merry lives. Wind would still blow and rain would still fall from the sky.

In this scenario, I'm not taking into consideration any external factor to the end of the world as we know it, i.e sun imploding, which would genuinely mean the term 'end of the world', seeing as everything would cease to be.

I think if you knew how the world ended, you'd be able to start seeing the beginning effects pretty early on and therefore determine the when. I don't really think I would want to know either though.

Good point. People should fear death because there is no evidence of what happens after dying. People fear the unknown. But its a double edged sword. No one knows what happens after you die, so is it good or bad? That's my worry.
