Dualshock 3 Black Ops Problem

This may havve been solved but Ive found nothing. My DualShock 3, while playing bops, will stop working properly. The L2 R2 and Sprint button all stop. I deleted the data and hit the reset on the controller earlier it worked for 3 hrs then stopped again. Any help would be great.
