Does it matter if your first child is a boy?

Most couples prefer a boy for their first child for varied reasons. Some are based on traditions and cultures and some are for needs and demands of the society. Does it matter to you if your first born is a boy ?

a boy is preferable for me as my first child but if the baby turns out to be a girl, i don't mind at all. the preference is just like that because i believe that a man is more stable in handling major problems in life so if he's the oldest, his siblings will have someone to look up to while they make themselves better for the future.

Well,it doesnt matter to me whether it is a boy or a girl! Whatever it is,it is still God's gift that we need to treasure, nurture and love. What is important to me is he or she is healthy, and will grow kind,humble and God-fearing person.

Of course it doesn't matter. Infact, when I have a child, I want my kid to be a girl! I don't know why but I just want a daughter for the first kid. So to answer your question, no it doesn't matter at all.

for me i prefer my first child is a boy so that he will protect his siblings but it depends on the parents. parents are the symbol for their children to be kind, obeying what is right and wrong and to be a better person.

No. It doesn't matter. I hope it doesn't matter to the parents, but sometimes it a good thing. Because if there's going to be siblings, the brother can at least protect them, as what cash said.

For me, It's fine with either boy for girl.

I have always wanted to boy. So if I had to choose then my first and only child would be a boy. However, I would love a girl just the same.
