Do you think people are more intelligent with age?

I'm asking this because right after I went through some terrible things in my life someone told me that I don't know what it is to have it tough. They said I will only know how tough life can be when I get older. The person didn't know that my husband and I had just gotten on our feet from living in a tent and not knowing where my next meal was coming from but that's besides the point.

Do you think people that are older are more intelligent because of their age? Or does age matter? Do you think because your older that you have been through more than a younger person? What are your thoughts on this?

i think they get experiences of life but we cant say that they get intelligent by their age. people come to know many things by their age .

Well in terms of experience,I've to agree that the older generations are wiser than the younger ones but in terms of education,it can be vice versa.I know of a boy I found on google who is 7 years old and is capable of doing Junior College papers....That is just gifted.

I believed that the intelligence of person is not affected by the age. There are many intelligent children than adults. But in many case, adult become more intellectual than younger ones because of their experiences in life. The older you are, the more experiences you had. As we know, that experienced is the best teacher. So, it is normal that the old people will tell us that we need to learn more in life and they are right. And it also depends on the field of the discussions. If the topic were all about the past generations, of course the oldies knew much about those things. But if the topic is about the latest trends , the new generation knew about it. So, we can't compare the age in terms of intellectualism because people experienced differently from others year by year.

yes it is true.people gets more intellegent when they get older because they would have already faced all the problems and they dont repeat them again.

If what u meant by intelligence is experience, yes. As we get older, we encounter different problems and go through different phases in life. We all learn from experiences, right? Older people know what it's like to be in a certain situation because they have been there. This means that they are more intelligent since they have been through a lot.

Age certainly helps. But that's only because the older you get, the more life experiences you have. I think if you've gotten through some hard times and you're still pretty young, you can be intelligent. In my opinion, it's all about the experience you have. It just so happens that a lot of times older people have had more experiences. But you can still be young and intelligent if you've gone through hard times or if you've just experienced a lot.

I think people get wiser as they age. The experience that we get from the school called life. We continuously learn from it.
