Do you need a certain amount of followers to get verified on twitter?

I'm not trying to get verified or anything, If I got famous then sure. 

But I was strolling around usernames out of boredom and found @Individual who has 900 followers but is verified, Looks quite funny actually as usually they have around 10,000 + atleast.

I don't think followers matter at all, if you look through @verified's following (everyone who is verified) there are LOTS of pages who have like 200 followers

Followers do not matter at all when it comes to verification. You simply just need to know the right people.

You could legit have 1 follower and be verified it dont go by followers, i once saw a account with 6 followers verified

A buddy of mine is paying for that Sunday so I'll let you know if it does verify you

Verification comes when you hold a high position, or are in a place where many people are impersonating you.

Also comes if the @ is associated with a company, generally just being high up in society gets you it.

Interesting how a verification tick can make you seem high up in society.. could even boost you forward in that direction.

i'm pretty sure if you go look on twitter and go to the forum or faq/help pages they talk about it and basically it's from being faked or atleast last time i checked that was what it said

you only get verified if you're a notable public figure

you can get it through paying for ads, but you have to spend at least 5k, and they take away the veri if you dont buy ads again

you can get verified if you have a credible company (like a news station or something) who are verified fill their verification form out for you, but even then twitter will only verify you if they feel like you need to be verified.

Just to clear a few things:

Most companies don't actually fill out any forms for verification, rather they have the power to verify you just by letting the right people know the @ - and you're in fact in a position at the company/label.

Don't bother trying to get yourself a specific @ - name through being a company/trademark etc. and think that this would get you verified. FAR from it.

Being verified doesn't give you anything more over a regular Twitter user in terms of getting an @ -  you might want etc.

In reality, going through the trouble to get verified any other way besides being an artist at a record label, head(s) of a large company or straight up being famous for something is pretty fucking useless and no one would care you're verified anyways 'cos no one knows you. Though, it may increase the size of your e-penis to other nerds.

Im PRETTY sure you get verified by being sponsored, you call them up and telling them your sponsor or company and yeah u get verified i read this on hf awhile ago. Look at OpTic Flamesword weak ass pro but hes verified cuz hes sponsored by redbull same with nadeshot
