If someone you didn't know at all was sad, would you care? Yes. pursuing a career in psychology.
~ If someone you didn't know randomly called you on Skype crying, would you care? As stated above.
~ If someone you didn't know got scammed thousands of dollars would you care? As stated above, I've seen this scenario in real life.
~ If someone you didn't know died, would you feel sorry? I don't show sympathy for death whether it be amongst family, friends or randoms. I hope everyone throws a parade when I die.

Once you realize that absolutely everything is interconnected and interlaced, that all is one and one is all, you also realize that apathy is a state of decay. And perhaps it is noteworthy to add that I'm an utter misanthrope and hate humanity when I say this.
