Obviously, this is a debate on the usage of Psychedelics..
Psychedelics have been around for a while now, and obviously the government wants us to NOT take them..
I personally believe that the usage of Psychedelics such as: LSD, and DMT can lead to a multitude of great things..

Granted, NO ONE should take Psychedelics for the heck of it.. They are extremely fun and mind opening, however, if not treated with the proper respect, they will Destroy Your Life.

I believe, that the usage of these types of drugs can lead to a higher level of thinking.. being more self-aware and more aware of your surroundings and others... Give you an overall better perspective on life...

I have personally never had a bad trip on LSD.. It seems that if you go into with the idea that "Yes, this is a drug.. I do not need to try and control the drug, however, I need to allow it to take me on a journey"

I find that while on LSD, you go through multiple stages.. You will trip for a while, having pretty colors everywhere and having visuals, then you will go into a higher level of thinking state.. like a meditated state.. where you think.. gain more aspect and information about yourself and the world.. then the drug seems to reward you with more colors and visuals after you do a bit of thinking and exploring..

People with a history of social disorders, depression, or have an unstable home life should NOT try these. These tend to bring out your sub-conscious fears and doubts. If you have a lot of doubts, or problems already, then it will just put you into a further down fall. I believe, however, if treated with proper respect and prepared for, these could help people deal with their inner fears and problems.​

I want you all to SOPHISTIC-ALLY debate on the USAGE of Psychedelics in order to gain more knowledge about the world / universe and Yourself.
Why does the government try to hush up all of the scientific research that was going on with Psychedelics.. Why do they want to hide a possible means of gaining years of knowledge in hours...? Discuss!​
 
It's quite an old debate, but it's one I enjoy. Anyone who takes LSD actively will defend it, quite agressively. The fact is, yes it can increase your level of thinking "power" and improve your imagination, but you don't need to take a harmful substance for that to occur. There's plenty of legal "substances" that can have that effect, but they will not be taken. People who take LSD don't generally take it because of that (I'm not attacking you, you might take it for that reason but most don't) and most wouldn't go onto a legal unharmful substance for that "increase power of the mind" affect if it means they can't have that trip, that dangerous state that they get into.

I personally wouldn't take it, because it does more damage than good, and there's significant proof that that's the case. I wouldn't be so against it if the defenders of the substance didn't pretend they were using it for good reasons lmao. The point remains though, if it was a one off trip I might, but I'd never take it actively and make it a part of my life. It doesn't gain years to your knowledge, it just opens sectors of the brain that we haven't been trained to use I feel. There's plenty of brain training activities and substances out there that can help you.

The government wouldn't hide it for no reason, despite the conspiracies. It's been proven it does harm, and that's all that needs to be said really.
 

I do not believe in taking LSD actively. I think it is something to take, learn from and then move on. I have taken it three times and learned more from those three experiences than ever before. It is hard to describe how you actually "learn" from these experiences, if you have never tried it.

Also, who is to say what is illegal. The whole illegal / legal aspect is flawed. No one person or body of people as a right to ban someone from doing something. I believe that these laws are put in place to protect the masses of people, however, just because a substance is illegal, doesn't mean that it should be cast out of judgement.

The Government in general has turned a complete 180 from what it was intended to do. Our government (USA) is such a democracy that it's almost communist. We are ruled by an iron fist, even if people don't agree. The government has an overall say so in what goes on and the leaders are rewarded in bulk. They traffic and allow more drug cartels than anyone and then profit off of the rewards. They then throw all of those people in jail which sucks more tax dollars out of the body of people, which they then make profit on. The founding fathers would be ashamed of today's government. Justice? Psht, there is no more justice. Justice is only given to few and the majority fall by the waste side.

Over 40% of our jail's inmate population is inmates in on marijuana charges. Yet, the government whines about how our crime rate is through the roof and that our jails are too crowded, demanding more tax dollars. Why not let those inmates go? While I admit that some of them in there for gang related trafficking deserve to be there, there are plenty of inmates that don't deserve the punishment they are given.

The USA government is far from communist, despite what most Americans think. Here in the UK we moan and groan but we don't do it with as much passion as the US people. Obama had to prove he was from the United States, instead of working to fix your economy. Now, as a non-US citizen even I can see Obama is the best thing to happen to US in a long time, and the fact he had to step out of work to prove he is a US born citizen, is sickening. Now that's a different topic. In America you're allowed free speech, you're allowed all of those things that in communist countries you are not. Did you know in North Korea if you get caught recording anything on a video camera, you're shot or taken to jail.

Fair enough there's been a few conspiracies leaked on Wikileaks about the US government, there's also stories of what they keep from you. But the US is the most powerful country in the world, and without them many other countries would not even exist. As a britfag, I can honestly say without America we could all be German in the UK. Without a government, a country will be torn apart by themselves, and if there is proof a substance can harm you in a fatal way, it has to become illegal. Without anyone to make anything illegal, the country would rot.

I'll compare it to the UK. Everyone here is complaining about the cuts. All the benefits, payments and jobs are being cut to save the economy. A year ago we were complaining about our crap economy, about how the Labour party were destroying the country. So we all vote for conservatives. Now everyone is complaining about the cuts, the fixes that these guys are making. Our economy has increased, but do we care? No, because we're personally effected (generalizing a lot here). It's pretty stupid, no citizen will ever be happy with their government, as they're seen as the most powerful leaders of the country, and one mistake makes them a "terrible" government. But everyone is first to say "mistakes is what makes people human".
 

I disagree with you saying that Obama was the best thing to happen to the USA. The best president, at least in the last few decades, was Ronald Reagan. Obama is a joke and a disgrace and is ruining several aspects of our economy. I am willing to be that he will not be re-elected, as everyone sees him as a joke of a president. While it is admirable that he had to "prove" himself, he should of had to prove himself as that's the job description. You can't just not be a US born citizen and run the country. It just doesn't work.

Also, I never meant to say that we ARE communist, I'm saying that we are going to eventually be there. The government is starting to take away so many rights and the Bill of Rights has be tweaked and manipulated so much, that it is not even the same as it was, originally. While I admit, that we are the most "powerful", there are plenty of rivals out there. China is a huge competitor and has already overtaken us in industry. North Korea and China, together, have an unrealistic army and if they ever decided to wage war, it would just a really bad, bad situation.

I agree that we should have government and that it is necessary to survive and not tear each other apart, however, I think that the US needs to do a little bit of "soul-searching" to see just how far we have swayed since we were founded. I stand for my liberties and hate to see our government being disrespected by corrupt politicians, when that is the very thing our founding fathers fought so hard to get rid of.
